Brera is located in the center of Milan, near Castello Sforzesco and Sempione Park. What to do in Brera Milan? In the neighbourhood you can visit the Pinacoteca di Brera as a place of interest. This museum can be found in the Accademia delle Belle Arti (the art academy of Milan). But the Brera district is more than this; when you walk through the district you will immediately notice the colorful houses and beautiful alleys. There are many plants, boutiques, cafes, restaurants and studios that make this an artistic and very characteristic district.

The Brera district is perfect to explore. Stroll through the streets, walk in and out of shops to get a taste of the atmosphere and, in good weather, take a seat on one of the many terraces to watch locals or visitors walking by. You can also enter the Brera botanical garden (entrance is free) and see the various plants, trees, herbs and flowers here. It is a cosy, charming garden that is nicely hidden, so it is not often crowded.
Pinacoteca de Brera
The Pinacoteca di Brera is an art gallery in the Brera district. This art gallery with mainly classical art is divided into 36 different rooms and each room showcases a specific period, movement or type of art. A unique experience is the live music that is played once a month in the Pinacoteca, for which you must make a reservation. The Pinacoteca is located in the Palazzo Brera, where you can also visit the Brera library, the astronomical observatory and the surrounding botanical gardens.
